Beyond Skyrim: Bruma – The Latest Content-Based Skyrim Mod
Nearly 6 years after the release of the original Skyrim, the game still hasn’t got old, and we all know whom to thank for it – the game’s huge and fantastic modding community. From the graphics to the gameplay, the modders have changed everything in and around Skyrim, popularising it to an extent that caused Bethesda to recently re-released the game with a new engine, instead of working towards Elder Scrolls VI. Now, thanks to the Beyond Skyrim project, it seems that Bethesda will not even have enough material for a new Elder Scrolls game, if they ever decide to work on one. Beyond Skyrim aims to bring in other parts of the Elder Scrolls universe into the game, starting with Bruma and Cyrodiil. The beta announcement trailer for this mod was released by the group on their YouTube channel recently, as can be seen below:
The mod adds a completely new area to the game, built from scratch, which portrays Bruma and parts of Northern Cyrodiil. The areas have their own main quest, and a series of side quests. The voice acting is professional, while the atmosphere and feel are authentic and lore-friendly. The team even managed to get an actual orchestra to play a new soundtrack for the mod that goes better with the ambience. Apart from Bruma, the Beyond Skyrim team has simultaneously been working on other parts of the Elder Scrolls universe, all of which will gradually be released. These will be welcome additions to the already long list of extra content and content overhaul mods available for the game, like Enderal, Falskaar, etc. And let us not forget about the rapid development of Skywind, a fan-based project to overhaul Morrowind with Skyrim’s engine. All in all, the future of the Elder Scrolls Series looks bright, even without Bethesda.
