Classic Bowling Mode Returns In Tekken 7’s First DLC Pack
Tekken 7’s new DLC pack will roll out the next edition of the long-running mode Tekken Bowl this August on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. This new take on the minigame, dubbed Ultimate Tekken Bowl, will come to the title sometime this August. As before, it looks to be a straightforward, 10-pin game of bowling in which players hit the lanes with their favorite Tekken characters. Longtime Tekken fans will be particularly pleased, as the upcoming DLC reintroduces a classic game mode back to the series. Bandai Namco has released a trailer. The announcement trailer offers little in the way of gameplay footage, but you can see series director Katsuhiro Harada dramatically bowl a strike–on two different lanes at once. Tekken Bowl was introduced to the fighting game series with Tekken Tag Tournament, a series compilation of sorts released as a launch title for the PlayStation 2. A standalone version of the minigame was released on iOS in 2011 but has since been taken off the app store. This is the first time Tekken fans will be able to experience Tekken Bowl on console since Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.
The second (winter 2017) and third (spring 2018) DLC packs for Tekken 7 will each include one exclusive playable guest character from another video game license and a stage for that new character. On Twitter, Harada revealed that he has decided one of the guest characters already, but he wouldn’t say who it is. So, are you excited?
Yes! Tekken Bowling is coming back.
