No Man’s Sky Wins a GDC Award, Team Doesn’t Show Up At the Event!

Yep, you heard it right. No Man’s Sky actually won an Award at the GDC Awards event that happened this week. No Man’s Sky Grabbed the “Innovation Award” at the Game Developers Choice awards and guess what ?? None of the developers team has showed up to pick the award. This shows us that the team is pretty clear regarding their game and how definitely they can’t get an award.

However, they bagged an award in the Innovation Category. This tweet from Innes McKendrick, the code lead for No Man’s sky explains how surprised the team is about getting an award.

The team was having a dinner meal talking about how DEFINITELY they can’t win an award.

To be fair, No Man’s sky was the most anticipated game as it had this amazing “INNOVATIVE” concept. However, it failed real bad at the market with only 31% positive reviews on Steam and 6/10 Rating on IGN. And it’s also recognized as the worst release of 2016. So it definitely makes sense why the developers were having dinner ignoring the GDC awards although they were nominated.
